New: Proposals Added

As part of our project, a crucial aspect of this website is the presentation of (and feedback on) our architectural proposals for the revival of the River Walbrook – proposals necessitated by the city’s tenuous ecological situation.  We have presented three initial studies of different visions, each with its own unique approach and strategy.  They are:

  • The Walbrook as civic center
  • The Walbrook as nature preserve
  • The Walbrook as infrastructure

READ MORE ABOUT THE PROPOSALS HERE: [III. THE FUTURE]

Each suggests a different attitude of the city towards its lost rivers, and how to reintegrate them into the urban environment.  Please consider our proposals, bearing in mind they are initial, diagrammatic concepts intended to provoke, and give us your thoughts about how you think they deal with the problems of London in the future, whether you would enjoy seeing them implemented, or what you would do differently.  Anything is appreciated – leave a comment!

Well done, lads! A superb job! Wonderful website and so very educational. I am sure that this experience will have changed you both into community awareness activists! The planet needs all that it can get. I know that this time in the UK has been so vital to both of you and you will have memories and good repercussions for the rest of your lives. I bless you both.

The author of walbrookriver.org has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: time does not exist it lies only in the imagination of man Thanks for the info.

Loving the idea of this, a civic space where working people can enjoy a lunch on the Waterside and used as a guide point for visitors to the city. Brilliant.
